New Vacuum Glass Technology

Aug 14, 2024

With the development of science and technology, new materials, new processes and new technologies are constantly emerging, and the quality of vacuum glass itself will continue to improve. Production processes and equipment will also be continuously updated, production will continue to expand, and costs will continue to decrease. The variety of combined vacuum glass will also continue to increase. Domestic and foreign studies have shown that for most areas, the heat transfer coefficient of building envelopes should be at least 1Wm-2k-1. In the past, the heat transfer coefficient of 37 brick walls (plus mortar) with a total thickness of about 390mm, which was widely used, was about 1.7 Wm-2k-1, and the heat transfer coefficient of 37 hollow brick walls (plus thick mortar) with a total thickness of about 410mm was close to 1 Wm-2k-1. The heat transfer coefficient of various new wall structures can be reduced to between 0.4 and 0.8 Wm-2k-1. Doors and windows are the major energy consumers of building envelopes. The heat transfer coefficient of a single 5mm white glass is about 6.1 Wm-2k-1, which is more than 6 times worse than that of the wall. Figuratively speaking, the energy consumption of each non-energy-saving window is equivalent to lighting a lamp of tens of watts and consuming energy for many years. More than 30 years ago, after the first oil crisis, foreign scientists proposed to develop glass windows with a heat transfer coefficient of less than 1, which were called "super windows". The emergence of vacuum glass has made this idea easy, and the emergence of double vacuum glass will make us enter the "super vacuum glass window" stage.
Fully tempered vacuum glass is an upgraded version of vacuum glass. It not only inherits all the characteristics of vacuum glass but also has a great improvement in performance. Its main feature is that the glass used is fully tempered safety glass. It can be widely used in buildings, doors and windows of vehicles and ships, insulation cabinets (such as display cabinets, refrigerators) and other fields that require transparent insulation materials.
