Smart Switching Glass
Smart switchable glass, is made of a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film sandwiched between two layers of interlayer or insulating glass and two layers of conductive interlayer. The PDLC film allows you to change the appearance of the glass from opaque to transparent on command.
Smart switchable glass, is made of a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) film sandwiched between two layers of interlayer or insulating glass and two layers of conductive interlayer. The PDLC film allows you to change the appearance of the glass from opaque to transparent on command. In transparent mode, an electric current is passed through the PDLC interlayer, causing microscopic crystals to align along multiple parallel axes, allowing things to be seen through the glass. Smart glass is available in single-layer tempered glass panels with a switchable layer on one side for partitions, and also laminated glass for wet areas. In addition to laminated glass, double-layer and triple-layer glass units, some specialty glasses include low-iron or lead glass for demanding commercial uses, residential high-traffic environments and medical environments.
Smart glass also has the effect of insulating heat, light and sound, helping to keep rooms cool, comfortable and quiet, and eliminating the need for cumbersome, bulky privacy blinds or curtains.
