Transparent Tempered Laminated Glass
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that remains intact after breaking. After breaking, laminated glass is held in place by an interlayer between two or more layers of glass, usually made of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA).
Laminated glass keeps the layers of glass bonded together after breaking, and its high strength prevents the glass from shattering into large, sharp pieces. When the impact force is not strong enough to completely pierce the glass, the typical "spider web" crack pattern results. In the case of EVA, thermoset EVA fully bonds (cross-links) to the material, whether it is glass, polycarbonate, PET or another type of product.
Product Introduction
● Transparent tempered laminated glass: the perfect combination of strength and safety
● Comparison between annealed glass, tempered glass and laminated glass
Annealed Glass:
This is the basic product formed from molten glass during the cooling process. This is the primary glass before any processing and treatment. It is more brittle and tends to break into large pieces when broken.

Tempered glass:
After a special heat treatment, it is four to five times stronger than annealed glass. If broken, it breaks into small particles, reducing potential damage.

Laminated glass:
It has the advantages of tempered glass, in addition, when the glass breaks, the interlayer sticks the glass fragments together, preventing shattering and providing a barrier.

Production process: tempered glass and tempered laminated glass
▼ 1. Tempered glass production process
First, the glass is cut into the required size and shape.
Then, it is heated to a high temperature and quickly cooled through a quenching process. This rapid cooling creates compressive stress on the surface while tension remains inside. This unique property gives tempered glass its strength and safety characteristics.
Please note that glass cannot be cut after being tempered, so please check the size, hole, shape, etc. of the glass you need before asking for glass solutions.
Tip: Tempered glass cannot be repaired.
▼ 2. Tempered glass is made into tempered laminated glass process
The production of tempered laminated glass involves several key steps.
First, the glass is shaped, cut, drilled and polished. The glass is then thoroughly cleaned to remove all impurities and dust.
The glass is then heated in a specific furnace to temper it. During this process, the glass is heated to a high temperature and then cooled rapidly. Tempered glass is stronger and more durable, which increases its resistance to shattering.
After tempering, the interlayer is assembled in a clean room. Between the two layers of glass, the interlayer is usually composed of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) substance. The clean room ensures that there is no debris or dust that hinders the bonding process.
The PVB material will then be sandwiched between the two layers of glass and rolled before assembly to eliminate bubbles. This process helps ensure a reliable and consistent connection between the layers.
After the interlayer is installed, the glass is heated in an autoclave. The glass is heated and pressurized in the autoclave, allowing the interlayer to adhere firmly to the glass layers. This procedure is essential for producing laminated glass that will not shatter.
After the heating process, the glass is removed and quality checked. The glass is inspected for any flaws or faults before being put into use.

Glass can be heat-strengthened, heat-dipped, polished edges, drilled, hot-stamped, screen-printed, digitally printed.
Tempered glass is not as strong as laminated glass (non-tempered);
If tempered glass breaks, the glass fragments will fall to the floor and require additional cleanup.
If you want to solve the above problems at the same time, we recommend that you choose tempered laminated glass, which combines the hardness and safety of tempered glass with the sound insulation and UV protection of laminated glass.
Provide sound insulation PVB
Tempered laminated glass is commonly used in commercial applications in various forms and locations, such as windows in high-rise buildings
(as insulating glass), railings, balustrades, skylights, partition walls, canopies, etc. In some cases,
owners may require the use of laminated glass to reduce the external noise level.
Laminated glass uses special layers of glass and interlayers to make hurricane-proof glass, intrusion-proof glass, and even bullet-proof glass to provide the highest security protection function.
